Thinking of taking a vacation? If it is beach time you want, head over to one of the top tourist destinations in America – Myrtle Beach, SC.
It has many attractions that make tourists flock to it every year, and many of them are repeat visitors! Some of the major draws are golf courses, dinner shows, fishing excursions, kayak trips, paddle boarding, and of course the gorgeous beach itself.
Things to Do
You can start your trip here from Broadway at the Beach. This is an expansive outdoor complex full of interesting stores, unique restaurants, and fun-filled activities.
While you get busy perusing the wares in the stores, the kids can enjoy carnival rides. Once you are done, you can eat your fill at the Grumpy Monk or Senor Frog’s. Two super fun places to check out here are Dave and Buster’s Arcade and Ripley’s Aquarium.
If you like sports, do keep a few hours free in your itinerary for baseball games. The team here is the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, which are a minor league team. The tickets are inexpensive and you may land some great deals if you book in time as there are many amazing promotions during the season. A fun aspect of these games is there is no batboy; they have a bat-dog instead! This is super fun to watch!
If you want something a bit more relaxed, you can head out to Barefoot Landing. This is a bit more upscale than Broadway at the Beach and the stores here are pricier. The restaurants here are fantastic and you can groove to the live music playing on the stage here. If your pocket allows it, buy some nice souvenirs from the boutique shops here.
Your Myrtle Beach, SC vacation will surely be incomplete without the sand and surf. The beach area has around 60 miles of coastline! You are sure to find a great spot where you can hang out for hours. You can while away your time reading a book, playing beach ball games, searching for shells, making sand castles, or even grabbing a nap or two. Basically, you can relax to your core on the sands and feel completely rejuvenated. If you are an early riser, you can catch the glorious sunrise here, but if you are not, you can take in the fantabulous sunsets instead.
Foodies have a lot to look forward to in Myrtle Beach. The grub here has been called incredible – and rightly so! Just grab a table at any of the several famous seafood buffets here and get right to chomping down the local Calabash food. In case you are wondering what Calabash is, it is a very famous local style of cooking seafood in which fresh catch is lightly breaded and then deep-fried to gastronomic perfection. This super delicious cooking style is named after the town of Calabash, which is close to Myrtle Beach.
