Everything you need to know about FBISD Skyward Family Access

You may be familiar with the Skyward fbisd family access online learning platform. This program allows parents to track their child’s attendance and grades, as well as set educational goals and receive information about upcoming events in their district and schools. Some parents might be confused about the software’s features and how it works. This is why I wrote this article on FBISD skyward family access. This article will cover everything you need to know!

How to Get Started

Log in to your student dashboard first. Scroll down to find Family Access, then click it. After clicking on it, a blue box will appear where you can enter your username/password. You will also find instructions in the email they send on how to create your username/password.

Why should I have an account?

An account is essential for parents who have children at any of the schools you attend, no matter if they are K-5, 6-8, or 9-12. An account makes it easier to communicate with teachers and school staff about the progress and achievements of your child. An account allows parents to access the parent portal from any location with internet access.

Are Your Data Secure?

Only you and your family can access the information. It is encrypted using industry-standard security protocols. This means that if anyone else, including a hacker, gains access to your password they will still need to have a keycode sent by your phone or as an SMS message to gain access to your account.

Where do the Data Go?

It must be somewhere in order to allow you and your teachers to have access to the data of your students. It could end up in one of two places. Teachers will have access to data through SIS (Student Information System). These data are only available to the school district and school staff. They must be able to access any student information at school by having some level of access (Teacher or Paraprofessional).

Is it possible for my child to see their grades on their phone?

Students can view their grades through Facebook accounts of their parents. Parents cannot view their children’s grades. Facebook does not allow students to access their parents’ accounts. Our district is committed to protecting student and parent privacy. We want you to be able to rest assured that your data is safe. We adhere to state guidelines regarding social networking as an education tool.

How do I set up the Parent Portal?

It can be difficult to set up your Parent Portal. Below is our step-by-step guide to simplify the process. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. We will be there for you every step of your journey. Check out our simple set-up guide after you sign up to your Parent Portal trial.

What if my child doesn’t have a cell phone?

You can purchase a cell phone for your child if he or she does not already have one. Prepaid cell phones are a great way to save money. These phones don’t require a contract so there is no long-term financial commitment. If students don’t already have a cell phone, they can get one cheaply at Walmart. These options will make it easy for you and your student stay in touch.

How do I know my child’s grades on their device?

Your MyAccess Student Detail view is the best way to see grades for your child. Logging in will allow you to go to the Student Detail tab. You can click on each student to see their grades. This will display a list all classes with due assignments, along with their grades.
