Oven cleaning : All you need to know

Cleaning your oven is an important household chore, but it can be a daunting task if you don’t know where to start. While there are plenty of chemical cleaners available on the market, many people prefer to use natural methods that are safer and more eco-friendly.

One of the easiest way for cleaning oven is by using the steam cleaning function, if your oven has one. To use this method, you’ll need to add water and vinegar to a special tank, activate the steam cleaning function, and let the oven do the rest. Once the function is complete, you can wipe away any remaining dirt and residue with a soft cloth.

Another popular cleaning method is pyrolysis, which involves heating the oven to a very high temperature to burn away any dirt and grease. This method is particularly effective for tough stains and baked-on grime. However, it’s important to note that pyrolysis can generate a lot of smoke and should only be done in a well-ventilated area.

If you don’t have access to steam cleaning or pyrolysis, you can still clean your oven naturally using homemade solutions. One effective solution is a mixture of baking soda, water, and vinegar. To use this method, mix two teaspoons of baking soda with about four tablespoons of water to create a paste. Spread the paste over the inside of your oven, avoiding the heating elements, and let it sit for at least 12 hours. After the paste has had time to work its magic, wipe it away with a damp cloth and spray vinegar over any remaining residue. Let the vinegar sit for a few minutes, then wipe away with a clean cloth.

Another natural solution is lemon juice and soda. Simply fill a heat-resistant baking dish with water, lemon juice, and lemon halves, then place the dish in your oven and heat until the mixture boils and steams. This method not only helps to clean your oven, but it also leaves a fresh, citrusy scent behind.

To prevent dirt and grease from building up in your oven, try sprinkling salt over any spills while the oven is still warm. Once the oven cools, you can scrub away the stain with baking soda and wipe it clean with a damp cloth. For a pleasant scent, try mixing a little cinnamon in with the salt.

By using these natural cleaning methods, you can keep your oven clean and healthy without relying on harsh chemicals.
