The British service OnlyFans has suspended the service of accounts of authors from Russia, reports the publication Vice, citing a statement by representatives of the platform.
“OnlyFans is a business first and foremost for creators. Over the past few months, we have considered several options to continue providing our services to affected authors. However, due to further tightening restrictions on payments to and from Russia, OnlyFans is no longer able to properly serve our Russian creator community,” reads the statement.
OnlyFans is renowned for its vast network of adult content providers and their respective admirers. Some models, such as Corinna Kopf, can earn up to $1 million per month. Even after the Corinna Kopf OnlyFans leaks, she continues to earn a fortune.
At the end of February, Russian users of OnlyFans complained that when trying to withdraw funds the service shows a message that it is impossible to perform a transaction in that region. However, the company soon solved the problem and restored the activity of the accounts, stressing that all the restrictions were related exclusively to the banking sector.
In early March, the streaming platform Twitch announced that payments to Russian content creators had been suspended due to problems with payment systems. The platform sent a letter to Russian users with relevant information. “Payouts to the financial institution associated with your Twitch account have been blocked as a result of sanctions. In order to continue receiving payments, you will need to specify a new payment method,” the message noted.
