One of the film’s most obnoxious characters is its main villain: the boogeyman, Oogie Boogie!

This obnoxious character inspires fear across the land and has a unique look and character worthy of his reputation.

Despite his grotesque appearance, learning to draw Oogie Boogie can be a lot of fun, thanks to his unique looks to Draw Oogie Boogie.

How to Draw Oogie Boogie

Step 1

In the film, this character is portrayed as made out of canvas, and it’s worth bearing in mind as we begin this Oogie Boogie drawing guide.

We’ll start with his head and, more specifically, his eyes. To draw his eyes, let’s draw two rounded shapes with sharp sides to make him look nice and mean!

Then we outline his head. His head’s flanks are marked with fluffy, slightly rounded lines, and the top is a thin spike that falls to the side.

This thin stitch will also have a line that has several smaller lines across it to make it look like it’s sewn back.

Finally, let’s draw his open, smiling mouth. To outline his mouth, we will use many small rounded lines that connect to create the shape as it appears in the reference image.

You can finish this step with a few more lines under his head for the beginning of his neck, and then we can move on to Draw Oogie Boogie!

Step 2

Now that you’ve drawn his head, we can begin the body of your Oogie Boogie drawing. Use some long, curved, but smooth lines for his right arm to Draw Oogie Boogie.

It will be quite long and folded down a bit, and there will also be sewn along another long line.

Then you can start drawing her body. Draw a long line from the base of his arm, then curve it down to a point for his foot.

Once you’ve drawn those elements, add a few more details to his arm to make it look more wrinkled, and then you’re ready for step 3 to Draw Oogie Boogie!

Step 3

One of the characteristics of this character is that he likes to play, and we will show him how to draw Oogie Boogie in this step of our guide!

First, draw more curved lines to create his large arm on the right side, bending upwards.

So you can draw some small dotted dice on his hand as dice, and that’s what we wanted to depict about gambling.

This arm also has other seams running through it, and you can draw it the way you drew the seams before.

Next, extend some slightly curved lines from the top of his leg to the base of his body to Draw Oogie Boogie.

Step 4

In this step of your Oogie Boogie drawing, you’ll outline his body. Just draw a line from his right arm and drag it down until it curves into a rounded point.

It will attach to the bottom of his body as it occurs in our contact image.

Next, we’ll add lots of wavy and curved lines throughout its body to make it look more like it’s made from levitating material. Once those aspects are settled, let’s move on to some final details in the next step to Draw Oogie Boogie!

Step 5

The last details we will add in this step of our guide on drawing Oogie Boogie will be quite simple, but there will also be the possibility to add your touches!

He’s meant to be made of a canvas-like material, so we used a beige colour for his body and a little purple for the dice he’s holding.

We chose these colours for movie accuracy, but you can change the colours if you’d like!
